Hi! I'm Anton
About Me
My three favorite things are surfing, life hacking (all kinds of hacks and tricks to make life better), and cooking. I surf 50 F water in Seattle since starting my job at Amazon, travel for free through rapid and strategic accumulation of airline miles and credit card points (I have 15+ credit cards and over 1 million points), and love cooking at home and grilling and having braais on my rooftop regardless of the weather.

Surfing
Recent Trips
Nicaragua - Popoyo: SO amazingly fun and consistent. Wave breaks 365 days a year. Playa Colorados: Literally Pipeline-esque barrels. May 2018
Costa Rica - Pavones: 2nd longest left in the world... Remote town 8 hours from the Capital. Got double ear infections half way through the trip and wasn't able to surf again. Antibiotic ear drops are a must pack :) March 2017
Pacific Northwest USA - 3rd Beach Neah Bay: Insanely beautiful coast line. Car camped with Ruby on the beach nearby, wave was accessible only through a 30 min hike in the muddy forest, leading to a pumping punchy left wave. Winter 2017
Life Hacking
Current Hacks
I love hacks and tricks because they make room for the many things I want to do in my life, like world travel, being successful at work, being financially stable, finding time, and more. I am usually limited by time and money, so that is where I naturally find myself trying to optimize and refine my life.
Travel:
-Travel for free by opening credit cards with huge lucrative sign up bonuses. One bonus can take you round trip to Europe, or one way in Business class.
Productivity:
-Ivy Lee method
-3x5 Notecards
Financial:
-Tracking all my finances through Excel and Mint. Creating an system to easily track my finances and to split bills between Ruby and I. I will be sharing my creation so you can gain value from my learnings too.
-Interested in a "free financial assistant in the form of a Facebook Messenger or text message chatbot that saves you money while you do pretty much nothing"? I wrote a guest post about on 10xT, Bryce Conway's website about travel hacking through which I learned all about credit cards and miles. Check it out here: 10xtravel.com/introducing-trim/
Cooking
Post-college, cooking has taken over a large portion of my life. I found myself in a position of needing to cook for myself for the first time, and preparing delicious meals with my girlfriend Ruby Wagner happened to check all the boxes: cheaper than eating out (saving up $ to pay student loans and travel the world), healthier and more delicious than your average restaurant, I get to learn how to become a master chef, and I love cooking.
In our process of learning to cook, we realized that many young people don't attempt to cook or push their culinary boundaries simply because of lack of guidance, time, and inspiration. I am lucky enough to know what type of amazing home meals are possible only because my lovely beautiful and skilled Russian Mom made delicious dinners every night during my many years living at home. Teriyaki salmon, shrimp pasta, steaks, borscht soup, and delicious cabbage salads are only some of those dinners that I still think about.
It is in this light that we decided to create @rubyandton and Instagram our nightly dinners. Our goal is to convince recent grads that cooking delicious, simple, and mostly healthy meals is easy and possible. Convincing you that in the midst of our "I just got out of college" or "All I do is cook chicken" lifestyles, you can cook yourself and a friend a master chef meal.
